Tim Oden from Apopka Florida displays his Black 1959 Corvette Convertible at a local car show.   The 383/230HP power plant has been replaced by a 400/425HP coupled to a 5-Speed Transmission.  To handle the extra power that the engine develops, a Olds 4-11 Rear-end is used.  The interior of the Corvette has been upgraded with Black Leather, Hurst Shifter and VDO Gauges.  Antiquated steering has been replaced by a Rack-Pinion System.  Custom Wheels are the popular “Torque Thrusters”.   The base price of this Classic was $3875 when new and with optional Hardtop at $237 drove the price up to $4112.  Today the price of a nice Hardtop is $5000+ and the value of the 1959 Corvette, even with the economic climate, sales over the $55000 are common.  A Numbers Matching, Documented with Pedigree paper work have busted into the $100,000+ on TV Auction coverage.
