Dustin Biddix of Granite Falls, NC is a 20 year old full time college student studying mechanical engineering. His hobbies and interests include basketball, drag racing and auto cross plus he is also a full time auto enthusiast when it comes to his `96 Honda Civic DX. Dustin purchased a bone stock Honda from a schoolteacher a little over 2 years ago and since that time has spent every extra dollar to get the car to where it is today. The choice for buying a Honda was based on the fact that they are very dependable and there are so many ways to make them quick. Dustin's DX is no longer a pure stock Honda thanks to many parts, pieces and hard work. Body modifications on the car are very subtle with filled & shaved bumper bolts, shaved emblems; color matched moldings- sideskirts- mirrors and trim. Dustin, his father Rodney, Uncle JR and his brother Ryan repainted the exterior in the factory Milano Red using Diamont base coat clear coat. Austin's Trim Shop upgraded the complete interior from the factory stock gray cloth to all black leather with red stitching. Rolling stock for this Honda is a combination of Toyo Proxes 4 mounted on Rota J-Special Royal Gold wheels. Suspension modifications include Dropzone coilovers on all four corners with the whole car dropped 3 _ inches lower. Drivetrain is a Honda 1. 6 L Non-Vtec backed up to a Honda 5- speed. Modifications at this time to the motor include a Megan Header, CBX B10 exhaust, Weapon R short ram intake and MSD wires. Future plans for the Honda include a major engine swap, Turbo B18, new TEIN suspension and Apexi exhaust. Don't look for a body kit, huge wing or neon lights on this Honda since Dustin wants nothing but pure JDM goodness to shine through. In the few years Dustin has owned, worked on and shown the car he has picked up several nice awards including a 3 time Young Rodder award winner at a show hosted by Bad Company Rods & Customs and he recently picked up a Young Rodder Award at the 2007 Spring Cruise The Smokies Rod Run. Dustin's Honda was also featured in an article in Honda Tuning. With completion of the last semester of college peeking over the horizon Dustin is getting ready to start job hunting. He hopes to land one that will help pay for all of the upgrades he has planned for his pride & joy.
